A) My Media in 2025

A Glimpse Into my Media Digestion
As my smartwatch wakes me up with a pulsing vibration on my wrist each morning, I raise my arm and check the weather forecast.  Next, I flip through personalized news headlines on Google News on my Apple watch.  After getting ready for my day, I usually check the front pages of Reddit and Hacker News via some combination of my watch, glasses, and phone.  It’s been almost a  decade since I’ve seen a paper copy of the New York Times.
My phone, tablet, watch and glasses are powered by the Google network.  Google has become the largest Internet and Phone service provider in the United States after surpassing Time Warner, and eventually Facebook last June.  While driving to work I usually listen to Spotify via CarPlay.  My car still has a stereo function, but I haven’t used it in years since the quality of radio stations is so horrible these days.   At lunch time I usually check the news again on Google and Reddit, sometimes finding links to New York Times or Al Jazeera articles, but usually columns and videos created by small, independent internet news networks.
I glance at Facebook a few times a day on my work tablet to see the gps location of my friends so that I can find out what they’re doing.  Most of my friends have abandoned Facebook’s original site and now use their other products like their VR games or mobile data service.  Twitter is no longer even in the Alexa top 1000.  Facebook’s messenger service is now the leading message type as people have drifted from SMS and WhatsApp in favor of Facebooks universal usability.  Most of us have come to terms with the fact that this coincides with the federal government having immediate access to all of our communications.   I have a large flat screen TV but no longer pay for a Television provider.  Instead,  I simply stream games and video content from my various devices to the TV using my 100gb/second Google Fiber Optic internet.
